ABOUT OuR ECO RETREATS

Our affordable Eco retreats are held at Cabinas Mi Mamas, San Pablo Viejo in the Guanacaste region of the luxurious Costa Rica.

Featuring a swimming pool, BBQ area, restaurant and shop onsite and free wifi, our Eco retreats are perfect for families and large groups.

Classes take place in the open air within the grounds of the property.

Rooms at Cabinas Mi Mama are fitted with a patio and feature a private bathroom with free toiletries!

8 Days ECO YOGA Retreat: Dates TBC

Amanda is a highly experienced and qualified Yoga Teacher and Holistic Therapist having attained VTCT Holistic Therapies – Level Three Diploma and an 18-month Teacher Training Diploma with Yogacampus.

To her, there is no greater gift than improving lives by restoring and balancing the mind, body and soul in the purest way possible.

Amanda is continuing to develop herself as a yoga teacher and her passion lies in restorative yoga, yoga nidra, pranayama (breath work) and meditation and she is currently furthering her studies in these specialisms.

Yoga Practice on Amanda's Retreat

Hatha

Hatha Yoga works at a slower pace and works with individual postures and includes pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation and relaxation.   It is ideal for those beginning their yoga journey and who are newer to yoga or for those who want to improve their practice.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa flow is a dynamic, creative style of yoga in which the asana (postures) are linked together and synchronised with a yogic breath. This style of yoga allows you to feel the physical power of a yoga practice. When we begin to move through a physical flow with the breath our inner energies begin to flow more freely through the body leaving us feeling energised and revitalised.

Pranyama

We will explore different forms of Pranayama to switch on the Parasympathetic Nervous System to cultivate a calm mind and help alleviate stress, anxiety and mild depression.  We will also explore some pranayama techniques that are more energising for the body.

Meditation

Control and/or quieten the mind focusing on different meditation techniques such as visualisation using nature and the five great elements, (earth, water, fire, air and space), mantras, a word repeated to aid concentration, chanting, focusing on internal sound (nada) and chakras to bring you into conscious being and connect with your inner-self to cultivate joy and happiness.  Just being rather than doing.

15 days eco yoga retreat: Dates TBC

Anna Maria Gillespie earned her certification in Experiential Yoga at the Nosara Yoga Institute (NYI) under the careful guidance of Don and Anna Stapleton in November of 2010 and a majority of her continuing education focused on Yin Yoga.

She's been practicing yoga regularly for more than 20 years and has eight 8 years of experience teaching classes of all levels and sizes.

Anna credits Yoga with transforming her life and bringing her into the "here and now."

The cumulative education she's received over the past two decades is built on principles learned from some of the most intuitive, knowledgeable, and inspirational teachers in the field. Anna dedicates herself to sharing her unique yogic perspective and philosophy with each student she has the opportunity to connect with.

Yoga Practice on Anna's Retreat

Yin

A gentle practice done mostly in a seated or lying down position where static poses are held for a minimum of 2 minutes and sometimes for as long as 10 minutes. Yin Yoga harmonizes the body by releasing the fascia and removing energetic blockages.

Vinyasa

A vigorous style of yoga that moves through a series of poses that build heat within the body, helping to increase circulation, flexibility, strength, and mental clarity.

Svaroopa

A restorative style of yoga where a specific set of poses are practiced in a predetermined order encouraging the spine to release. When the spine and the muscles surrounding it are all able to release, the body automatically realigns and the organs relax, restoring their optimal function.
